The Right Lane Ends road sign (W214) is a W Series road layout warning sign used to alert drivers that the right-hand lane will end ahead. It provides advance warning of a lane reduction so drivers can merge early and safely.
Purpose and function
This sign reduces conflict and late merging by warning drivers to adjust speed, create gaps, and merge into the continuing lane before the taper. It is commonly used where an additional lane ends after an overtaking section or where road width reduces.
