The Left Lane Ends road sign (W215) is a W Series road layout warning sign used to alert drivers that the left-hand lane will end ahead. It provides advance warning of a lane reduction so road users can merge in good time and maintain safe spacing.
Purpose and function
This sign warns drivers to anticipate a lane drop and to merge into the continuing lane safely before the taper. It reduces sudden lane changes, braking, and side-swipe risk at the merge point.
