The 80 km Speed Limit road sign (R201-80) is an R Series regulatory sign used to indicate the maximum legal speed that may not be exceeded from the point of installation. An 80 km/h limit is commonly used on higher-speed urban roads and transitional routes where controlled speed is required.
Purpose and function
This sign regulates vehicle speed to improve safety, reduce collision severity, and maintain predictable traffic flow. The restriction applies from the sign onward until changed by another speed limit sign.
