The 60 km Speed Limit road sign (R201-60) is an R Series regulatory sign used to indicate the maximum legal speed that may not be exceeded from the point of installation. A 60 km/h limit is commonly used on urban and suburban roads where speed must be controlled due to intersections, roadside activity, or frequent stopping.
Purpose and function
This sign regulates speed to improve safety and maintain predictable traffic flow. The restriction applies from the sign onward and remains in effect until changed by another speed limit sign.
