The Winding Road (Right – Left) road sign (W208) is a road layout warning sign used to alert drivers to a sequence of alternating curves ahead, starting with a curve to the right followed by a curve to the left. It is used where the road alignment changes repeatedly over a short distance and early driver caution is required.
Purpose and function
This sign warns drivers to reduce speed and maintain control through successive bends. It improves early recognition of repeated curvature, particularly where sight distance is limited and where drivers may not expect continuous alignment changes.

- Install before the first curve in the sequence
- Ensure the sign accurately reflects the direction sequence of the curves
- Supplement with chevron alignment signs through the curve where required
