The Winding Road (Left – Right) road sign (W209) is a road layout warning sign used to alert drivers to a sequence of alternating curves ahead, starting with a curve to the left followed by a curve to the right.
Purpose and function
This sign warns drivers to reduce speed and maintain increased attention through successive bends. It is used where road alignment changes repeatedly over a short distance.

- Install before the first curve in the sequence
