The Danger Plate road sign (W401 or W402) is a warning plate used to add emphasis to a hazard location by indicating the direction of the danger, left or right, depending on the installed option.
Purpose and function
Danger plates are used to strengthen hazard recognition where a standard warning sign requires additional emphasis, particularly where road alignment or roadside conditions create increased risk.
Typical applications
- Supplementing warning signs at sharp bends and hazardous curves
- Locations with limited visibility, steep drop-offs, or narrow shoulders
- High-risk road sections requiring stronger driver attention

- Sharp Curve Left road sign (W205)
- Sharp Curve Right road sign (W204)
- Sharp Curve Chevron road sign (W405 or W406)
Materials and ordering notes
- 1.2 mm Chromadek steel with Class 1 retro reflective sign face
- Alternative reflective classes can be quoted on request
- Poles, clamps, nuts and bolts are not included
- Please confirm stock availability when ordering road signs
- Remember to order the correct size clamps for the poles you will be using if ordering unistruts on your road signs
