The 20 km Speed Limit road sign (R201-20) is an R Series regulatory sign used to indicate the maximum legal speed that may not be exceeded from the point of installation. A 20 km/h limit is commonly used where traffic calming is required and drivers must reduce speed due to pedestrians, crossings, or restricted visibility.
Purpose and function
This sign reduces vehicle speed to improve safety and stopping distance in shared environments. It is frequently used in estates, school approaches, and internal site roads where low-speed traffic management is essential.
